How Mystic Tan Works

Mystic Tan is a full-body, DHA, tanning process that utilizes the new MagneTan technology. The Mystic Tan booth is located in a comfortable private room. You simple enter the room, disrobe and step into the booth. A push of a button activates the MagneTan nozzles and the solution is attracted to your body by the exclusive MagneTan technology. Forty-Five seconds later the process is complete! Simply step out of the booth, towel dry any remaining mist, dress and enjoy the benefits of a uniform, natural looking tan that took less than 5 minutes, and will last for days.

The MysticTan tanning solution has 3 components: Bronzer, DHA and Aloe Vera.

• The Bronzer is a water-soluble dye designed to produce a temporary tan. The brown bronzer will wash off in the shower or bath but will not effect your overall tan. The long-term DHA tan is permanent.
• The DHA produces a long-term tan. When applied to the skin, DHA reacts with proteins in the skin's superficial layer to form a golden brown color. It begins to darken 2 to 3 hours after tanning. It reaches it's peak color within 24 hours. The DHA tan will begin to fade after 4 or 5 days, just like a tan from the sun. To maintain an optimal tan, you should tan every 4 or 5 days.
• The Aloe Vera helps to carry the DHA deeper into the skin and promotes softer, smoother skin. The MysticTan tanning solution contains more than 65% stabilized Aloe Vera liquid. Aloe Vera is a natural moisturizer that helps the skin draw moisture into the surface. It softens the skin and helps smooth wrinkles.

Use these simple tips to make the most out of your Mystic Tan™ experience:

Before Tanning ...

• For best results, avoid oil-based products or products with emollients or emulsifiers
• Exfoliate with MysticReady™ Exfoliating Body Wash in Desert Bloom
• Moisturize with HyperMoist™ Instant Moisturizing Lotion in Green Tea
• To accelerate your tan and get an even deeper, darker result, apply HyperTan™ Sunless Tan Accelerator

• Make sure you use an adequate amount of Mystic Tan™ Blending Cream on your fingernails, toenails, tops of your feet and any other areas of your skin that tend to be dry

• For maximum results, wait at least 4-6 hours before showering or swimming
• To eliminate the odor from the developing tan, use MysticFres™ Post-Sunless Body Freshening Spray. Wait one hour after your Mystic Tan™ Tanning Session, then use as often as you like
• Moisturize daily, after showering. Use MysticLife™ Tan Extending Lotion in Desert Bloom
• Avoid exfoliating until you're ready to Mystic Tan™ again
• Limit exposure to salt water and chlorine, which can affect the life of your tan

What is the Mystic Tan™ booth?
The Mystic Tan™ booth is a private, self-contained unit that, in just seconds, employs a revolutionary spray process to apply a uniform amount of Tanning Myst to the entire body in just seconds. When the tanning session is complete, the tanner simply steps out of the booth, towels off any excess Tanning Myst, dresses and exits. The result is an even, natural-looking tan.

What is MagneTan technology?
MagneTan™ technology is our patented process that uses the human body's own magnetic properties to attract Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst to every exposed surface of the skin. When authentic Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst passes through the spray nozzles in a Mystic Tan™ booth, the micro-particles of Tanning Myst become polarized, taking on the characteristics of "tiny magnets." These particles adhere evenly to the skin to create an even, natural-looking tan.

Will my skin look orange?
20 million tans can’t be wrong. That’s how many successful Mystic Tan™s there have been in just a few years. Before Mystic Tan™, most self-tanners were creams and lotions applied by hand. That meant inconsistent coverage. Too much lotion applied in one place left the skin looking orange. Not enough lotion left unattractive streaks. Hand held spray-on applicators tend to run and also cause streaking. Our MagneTan technology ensures that a uniform micro-spray of Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst covers the entire body in the exact amount required to produce a natural-looking tan. Still not sure? If I tan in the Mystic Tan™ tanning booth, can I also tan in tanning beds and in the sun?
Yes. There is nothing in the Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst that would prevent you from tanning in tanning beds or the sun. In fact, a number of customers have found that tanning with UV rays and the Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst actually gives them a better overall tan. If you plan to use a tanning bed and the Mystic Tan™ booth in the same day, we recommend that you use the tanning bed first. Remember, however, that the Mystic Tan™ tan does not give you any protection from UV rays.

I have fair skin and have never been able to tan. Will I look tan after a Mystic Tan™ tanning session?
A great benefit of Mystic Tan™ is that it is perfect for individuals who can't or prefer not to tan conventionally.

Can I use the Mystic Tan™ booth if I am pregnant?
We recommend consulting with your doctor before proceeding with a Mystic Tan™ tanning session.

Has anyone had an allergic reaction to Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst?
The components we use in our Tanning Myst have been successfully used in cosmetics and food products for decades, and are proven safe for use on the skin. If you've had previous allergic reactions to self-tanning lotions or cosmetics, you may want to do a "patch test" first. Put a small amount of Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst on a small area of your skin to test for possible reactions.

DHA - This is what produces a long-term tan. The use of DHA has been FDA-approved for decades as an external tanning agent. When applied, DHA reacts with proteins in the skin's superficial layer to form a golden brown color. Your skin begins to darken two to three hours after application and reaches its peak color within 24 hours. The color will gradually fade through natural exfoliation, just like a tan from the sun. To maintain optimal color, you'll want to tan every four to five days.

Moisturizers - These help carry the DHA deeper into the skin and promote a softer, smoother finish. Mystic Tan™ Tanning Myst contains 65 percent Aloe Vera, a natural moisturizer that helps skin draw moisture to the surface. Aloe Vera also softens the skin and helps smooth wrinkles.

How many Mystic Tan™ tanning sessions will I need to achieve the color I want? You'll be tan after one session, but it may take additional sessions to achieve your desired color. Once you reach your ideal color, you should be able to maintain it by tanning every four to five days.
